1. Introduction
These Terms of Service apply to your access to and use of the TidyMatch website, platform, tools, and related services.
By using TidyMatch, creating an account, posting a cleaning job, submitting a quote, subscribing as a cleaner, messaging another user, or otherwise using the platform, you agree to these terms.
If you do not agree to these terms, you should not use TidyMatch.
2. About TidyMatch
TidyMatch is an online marketplace that helps customers connect with cleaning companies and independent cleaning providers. TidyMatch is operated by Utopia Marketing Ltd t/a TidyMatch, 63 Apollo Drive, Rosedale, Auckland 0632, New Zealand.
Customers can post cleaning jobs and receive quotes from cleaning providers. Cleaning providers can view suitable opportunities and submit quotes for jobs they are interested in.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, TidyMatch does not provide cleaning services directly and is not a party to the cleaning services agreement between a customer and a cleaning provider.
TidyMatch may provide platform tools for job posting, quoting, profiles, profile checks, badges, reviews, messaging, subscriptions, and support. These tools are provided to help users make and manage their own decisions, not to make TidyMatch the cleaner, employer, agent, partner, insurer, or representative of any user.
3. Eligibility to use TidyMatch
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use TidyMatch for paid cleaning services.
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when using the platform.
If you use TidyMatch on behalf of a business, company, trust, partnership, or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to act on behalf of that organisation.
We may refuse, suspend, or restrict access to TidyMatch if we reasonably believe that a user has provided false information, breached these terms, or created a safety, legal, operational, or reputational risk.
4. Customer responsibilities
Customers are responsible for providing accurate details about each cleaning job, including the property type, location, property size, access requirements, preferred timing, scope of work, hazards, pets, parking, budget, photos, and any special instructions.
Customers must not post misleading, unlawful, unsafe, offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate job requests.
Customers are responsible for deciding which cleaning provider to hire. This includes reviewing quotes, profiles, ratings, profile checks, badges, insurance information, and any other details available before making a decision.
Customers must provide safe and reasonable access to the property where cleaning services are to be performed.
Customers must treat cleaning providers respectfully and must not use TidyMatch to harass, threaten, abuse, discriminate against, or exploit any person.
5. Cleaner responsibilities and independence
Cleaning providers are independent businesses or independent service providers. They are not employees, workers, agents, partners, franchisees, or representatives of TidyMatch.
Cleaning providers choose which jobs to quote on, set their own pricing, control how they perform cleaning work, decide their own availability, use their own equipment and supplies, and may work for other customers, platforms, or businesses.
Cleaning providers are responsible for ensuring that the information in their profile, quotes, business details, NZBN details, availability, pricing, insurance, team information, and check-related documents is accurate and up to date.
Cleaning providers must only submit quotes for jobs they are genuinely able and willing to complete.
Cleaning providers are responsible for delivering cleaning services with reasonable care and skill, complying with applicable laws, managing their own staff or contractors, and maintaining any insurance, registrations, approvals, or business requirements that apply to their work.
Insurance is optional on TidyMatch. Cleaning providers may choose to maintain public liability insurance or other insurance appropriate for the cleaning services they offer, and may supply insurance details for transparency. TidyMatch does not independently verify active insurance cover unless the platform clearly states otherwise.
Cleaning providers must not misrepresent their experience, identity, business status, NZBN status, insurance status, reviews, pricing, availability, or ability to complete a job.
Cleaning providers are responsible for their own tax obligations, GST treatment, invoices, accounting records, employment obligations, health and safety obligations, equipment, supplies, transport, and business expenses.
6. Quotes, bookings, and cleaning agreements
Quotes submitted through TidyMatch are provided by cleaning providers, not by TidyMatch.
A quote may be based on the information available at the time it is submitted. If the job details change or the property condition is materially different from what was described, the cleaning provider may need to discuss revised pricing, timing, or scope with the customer.
Cleaning providers should make clear what is included in a quote, what is excluded, and whether any minimum charges, call-out fees, cancellation fees, extra charges, GST, or other conditions apply.
When a customer accepts a quote or otherwise agrees to proceed with a cleaning provider, the cleaning services agreement is between the customer and that cleaning provider.
TidyMatch may provide tools to help manage quotes, communication, booking details, records, and support, but this does not make TidyMatch the provider of the cleaning services.
7. Cleaner subscriptions and platform access
Cleaning providers may need an active subscription to access certain platform features, view opportunities, submit quotes, receive leads, or maintain an active cleaner profile.
Subscription plans, pricing, included features, limits, billing cycles, and renewal rules are shown on the platform or during the subscription process. Paid cleaner subscription plans are currently NZ$49/month + GST (Growth) and NZ$99/month + GST (Unlimited), billed monthly in New Zealand dollars and renewing automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops future renewals and does not automatically refund fees already paid for the current billing period unless required by law.
Cleaner subscriptions are for access to TidyMatch platform features. A subscription does not guarantee that a cleaner will receive a certain number of jobs, quotes accepted, customers, revenue, or business results.
We may change subscription features, pricing, limits, or plans from time to time. Where required, we will provide reasonable notice of material changes that affect existing paid subscriptions.
If a cleaner subscription expires, is cancelled, fails payment, or is suspended, access to some platform features may be limited or removed.
8. Stripe payments and billing
Cleaner subscription payments are processed through Stripe or another payment processor we may use in the future.
By subscribing as a cleaner, you authorise the applicable payment processor to charge your selected payment method for subscription fees, renewals, and any applicable taxes or charges shown during the payment process.
TidyMatch does not store full card numbers. Stripe may process card details, transaction authorisation, fraud screening, subscription billing, failed payment handling, invoices, receipts, refunds, and payment records.
You are responsible for keeping your billing details and payment method up to date.
If a payment fails, we may retry the payment, notify you, restrict access, suspend subscription features, or cancel the subscription.
9. Refunds and cancellations for cleaner subscriptions
Cleaner subscription cancellation rules may depend on the subscription plan selected at the time of purchase.
Unless stated otherwise, cancelling a subscription stops future renewals but does not automatically refund fees already paid for the current billing period.
We may consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis where required by law, where there has been a clear billing error, or where we decide that a refund is fair in the circumstances.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under New Zealand law that cannot legally be excluded.
10. Profile checks, badges, and trust features
TidyMatch may offer profile checks and trust features, such as phone confirmation, Stripe identity checks, NZBN business checks, optional insurance detail collection, reviews, profile badges, or other trust indicators.
A phone confirmed badge means a cleaner has confirmed control of a phone number. An identity check completed badge means a cleaner has completed the identity check process used by TidyMatch at that time.
An NZBN checked badge means TidyMatch has checked a supplied NZBN against the NZBN register and matched basic business registration details such as registered name or status. It does not assess service quality, financial position, insurance coverage, or suitability for a particular job.
Insurance details supplied means the cleaner has provided insurance information for transparency. Unless the platform clearly states otherwise, TidyMatch does not confirm active insurance cover directly with the insurer.
Profile checks, badges, reviews, and trust indicators are informational only. They do not mean TidyMatch guarantees, endorses, recommends, supervises, controls, insures, or accepts responsibility for any cleaner.
Profile checks, badges, reviews, and trust indicators do not guarantee workmanship, safety, honesty, conduct, compliance, insurance coverage, availability, suitability, or job outcome.
Customers should still review each cleaner's quote, profile, reviews, insurance information, experience, and suitability before choosing who to hire.
TidyMatch may approve, reject, suspend, remove, or re-check a status or badge at any time if we believe it is inaccurate, expired, misleading, incomplete, or no longer appropriate.
Cleaning providers must promptly update TidyMatch if their insurance, identity details, NZBN details, business details, authority to act, or other check-related information changes.
11. Reviews and user content
Users may be able to submit reviews, ratings, messages, photos, job descriptions, profile information, and other content through the platform.
You are responsible for the content you submit. You must not submit content that is false, misleading, defamatory, offensive, unlawful, discriminatory, threatening, spam, or infringes another person’s rights.
TidyMatch may moderate, edit, hide, or remove user content if we believe it breaches these terms, creates risk, or negatively affects the integrity of the platform.
By submitting content to TidyMatch, you give us permission to use, display, store, reproduce, and process that content as reasonably required to operate, improve, support, protect, and promote the platform.
12. Messaging and platform communication
TidyMatch may provide messaging tools so customers and cleaning providers can communicate about jobs, quotes, bookings, disputes, and support requests.
Users must communicate respectfully and honestly. Harassment, abuse, threats, discrimination, spam, or attempts to bypass platform rules may result in account suspension or removal.
We may access, review, or use platform messages where reasonably necessary for safety, support, dispute handling, fraud prevention, moderation, compliance, or platform improvement.
13. Cancellations, changes, and disputes between users
Cancellation and rescheduling arrangements for cleaning jobs may depend on the agreement between the customer and the cleaning provider.
Cleaning providers should clearly communicate any cancellation fees, minimum charges, call-out fees, or rescheduling rules before the customer confirms the job.
If a dispute arises, customers and cleaning providers should first try to resolve the issue directly and reasonably.
If direct resolution does not work, either party may contact TidyMatch support. We may ask for job details, quotes, messages, photos, reviews, account records, or other information relevant to the issue.
TidyMatch may help organise information, encourage constructive communication, and suggest practical next steps or a possible resolution. TidyMatch does not act as a court, tribunal, arbitrator, insurer, or legal decision-maker.
TidyMatch is not required to make a final decision, force either party to accept a resolution, refund or compensate either party, or pay for property damage, injury, poor workmanship, cancellation, delay, or disagreement unless required by law.
TidyMatch is not responsible for a customer or cleaner refusing to proceed, cancelling a job, arriving late, changing availability, or disagreeing about scope, price, quality, or outcome, except where TidyMatch is directly responsible under law.
14. Acceptable use
You must not misuse TidyMatch, interfere with the platform, attempt to access accounts or systems without permission, upload malicious code, scrape the platform without permission, create fake accounts, manipulate reviews, or use the platform for unlawful purposes.
You must not use TidyMatch to send spam, collect user information for unrelated marketing, pressure users unfairly, or engage in conduct that is misleading, deceptive, abusive, unsafe, or harmful.
You must not use TidyMatch to avoid paying applicable platform fees, bypass subscription requirements, or misuse job opportunities or customer information.
We may limit, suspend, or terminate access if we believe your use of TidyMatch creates legal, safety, operational, reputational, or commercial risk.
15. Account suspension or termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account if we believe you have breached these terms, provided false information, acted dishonestly, created safety concerns, misused the platform, failed to pay applicable fees, or caused harm to another user or to TidyMatch.
You may stop using TidyMatch at any time. You may also contact us to request account closure, subject to any legal, security, record-keeping, billing, or dispute-related requirements.
If a cleaner account is suspended or terminated, the cleaner may lose access to opportunities, quotes, profile visibility, subscription features, messages, or other platform tools.
16. Platform availability and changes
We aim to keep TidyMatch available and working properly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or always-available access.
We may update, modify, suspend, remove, or replace parts of the platform at any time, including features, pricing, profile check rules, account settings, and job posting or quoting processes.
We are not responsible for delays, outages, data loss, errors, or service interruptions caused by events outside our reasonable control.
17. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TidyMatch is not responsible for the acts, omissions, workmanship, advice, pricing, availability, property damage, injury, loss, or conduct of customers or cleaning providers.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under New Zealand consumer law that cannot legally be excluded.
Where we are legally permitted to limit liability, our liability is limited to the amount you paid directly to TidyMatch for the relevant service during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or NZD $100 if no amount was paid directly to TidyMatch.
We are not liable for indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, business interruption, or consequential loss, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
18. Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act, Fair Trading Act, Privacy Act, or any other New Zealand law that cannot legally be excluded.
Cleaning providers are responsible for ensuring the cleaning services they provide comply with applicable consumer and trading laws.
Customers and cleaning providers must not use TidyMatch in a way that is misleading or deceptive, including by making false claims about prices, services, availability, experience, profile checks, badges, reviews, insurance, NZBN details, or job details.
19. Privacy
We collect, use, store, and disclose personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
By using TidyMatch, you agree that we may process personal information as reasonably required to operate the platform, check user information, manage jobs and quotes, manage cleaner subscriptions, provide support, prevent misuse, improve our services, and comply with legal obligations.
20. Intellectual property
TidyMatch, including its branding, design, software, copy, graphics, logos, icons, layout, and platform features, is owned by or licensed to TidyMatch.
You must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or use TidyMatch intellectual property without our written permission, except as allowed by law.
You retain ownership of content you submit, but you give TidyMatch permission to use it as reasonably needed to operate, display, support, protect, and improve the platform.
21. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time.
If we make material changes, we may notify users by email, platform notice, website notice, or another reasonable method.
Your continued use of TidyMatch after updated terms are published means you accept the updated terms.
22. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
Any dispute relating to these terms or your use of TidyMatch will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
