Information we collect
We collect information needed to operate TidyMatch, including account details, job details, saved addresses, cleaner profiles, messages, reviews, and support enquiries.
Cleaner checks
Cleaners may provide phone, identity, NZBN, and insurance information so we can run profile checks and display relevant status information.
Cleaner subscriptions
Cleaner subscription payments are processed through Stripe. TidyMatch does not store full card details.
Security and privacy
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information and keep it only for as long as reasonably needed.

1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how TidyMatch collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when you use our website, platform, tools, and related services.
TidyMatch helps customers post cleaning jobs, compare quotes, and connect with cleaning companies and independent cleaning providers.
When you use TidyMatch, create an account, post a job, submit a quote, subscribe as a cleaner, send messages, upload information, or contact us, we handle your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.
2. New Zealand privacy law
TidyMatch is intended to operate in New Zealand and this Privacy Policy is designed with the Privacy Act 2020 in mind.
The Privacy Act 2020 sets out principles for how agencies collect, use, store, disclose, give access to, and allow correction of personal information.
Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit any privacy rights you may have under New Zealand law.
3. Personal information we may collect
We may collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, account details, address or service location, saved addresses, profile photo, business name, job title, public contact preferences, and communication or notification preferences.
For customers, we may collect information about cleaning jobs you post, including property type, location, property size, access details, photos, cleaning requirements, budget, timing, pets, parking, hazards, special instructions, quote history, booking history, saved cleaners, and saved addresses.
For cleaning providers, we may collect profile information, service areas, business details, NZBN details, team size, experience, services offered, pricing information, phone confirmation status, identity check status, insurance details, subscription status, account status, and documents or information uploaded for profile checks.
We may also collect messages, reviews, ratings, review reports, support requests, complaint or dispute details, feedback, contact form submissions, records of your acceptance of our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, technical logs, device information, browser information, IP address, analytics data, and information about how you use the platform.
4. How we collect information
We collect information directly from you when you create an account, complete your profile, post a job, save an address, submit a quote, upload documents or photos, subscribe as a cleaner, send messages, leave reviews, contact support, or otherwise use TidyMatch.
We may collect information automatically through cookies, local storage, analytics tools, server logs, and similar technologies when you visit or use the website.
We may collect information from third parties where reasonably necessary, such as identity check providers, phone verification providers, payment processors, address lookup providers, analytics providers, fraud prevention tools, email delivery providers, or other users of the platform.
5. Why we collect and use personal information
We use personal information to operate TidyMatch, create and manage accounts, display job posts, allow cleaners to submit quotes, allow customers to compare cleaners, support communication between users, and manage platform features.
We may use personal information to confirm phone numbers, support identity checks, check supplied NZBN details, review insurance information, manage profile badges, prevent fraud or misuse, investigate complaints, manage disputes, enforce our terms, and protect users and the platform.
We may use personal information to manage cleaner subscription access, confirm payment status, apply account limits, issue invoices or receipts, provide customer support, respond to enquiries, send service messages, notify users about jobs or quotes, send account or security messages, improve the website, analyse platform performance, fix technical issues, and develop new features.
We may use personal information for marketing or promotional communication where allowed by law. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails where an unsubscribe option is provided.
6. Sharing information between customers and cleaners
TidyMatch is a marketplace, so some information needs to be shared between customers and cleaning providers for the platform to work.
When a customer posts a job, relevant job information may be shown to cleaning providers so they can decide whether to quote.
When a cleaner submits a quote, relevant profile, quote, profile check, review, and messaging information may be shown to the customer. Public contact information may be shown where the cleaner has chosen to display it or where it is reasonably needed for a job.
We aim to share only the information reasonably needed for jobs, quotes, communication, booking decisions, profile comparison, safety, and support.
7. Cleaner profile checks and documents
Cleaning providers may be asked to provide information or documents for profile checks, including phone details, identity check information, NZBN details, proof of authority to act for a cleaning business, insurance details, or insurance documents.
We use this information to decide whether a cleaner can access certain platform features, submit quotes, appear in public profile areas, receive profile badges, or remain active on the platform.
Profile check information may be checked manually or through third-party tools or providers, including identity, phone, business-registration, address, or payment-related providers.
We may retain profile check records where reasonably needed for audit, trust and safety, legal compliance, dispute handling, fraud prevention, and platform integrity.
8. Cleaner subscriptions and Stripe payments
Cleaner subscription payments are processed through Stripe or another payment processor we may use in the future.
TidyMatch does not store full card numbers. Stripe may process card details, transaction authorisation, fraud screening, subscription billing, failed payment handling, invoices, receipts, refunds, and payment records.
We may store payment status, subscription plan, billing cycle, transaction references, invoice references, customer ID, subscription ID, payment dates, cancellation status, and other records required to manage cleaner access to the platform.
Cleaning providers are responsible for keeping their billing information accurate and for managing any tax, accounting, or business records that apply to their own business.
9. Messages, reviews, and user content
Messages sent through TidyMatch may be stored and reviewed where reasonably necessary for support, safety, dispute resolution, moderation, fraud prevention, enforcement of our terms, or platform improvement.
Reviews, ratings, profile information, public contact details, portfolio photos, and other user-generated content may be visible to other users or the public depending on the feature, account type, and privacy settings available in the platform.
You should not include unnecessary sensitive personal information in job posts, messages, reviews, photos, or public profile content.
10. Disclosure to service providers and third parties
We may share personal information with trusted service providers who help us operate TidyMatch, including hosting providers, database providers, storage providers, email providers, analytics providers, payment processors, identity check providers, phone verification providers, address lookup providers, customer support tools, security tools, and professional advisers.
We may disclose personal information if required or permitted by law, including to regulators, courts, law enforcement agencies, government agencies, or other parties where necessary to protect safety, rights, property, users, or the platform.
If TidyMatch is involved in a business sale, merger, restructure, investment, acquisition, or transfer of assets, personal information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that process, subject to appropriate safeguards where required.
11. Cookies, local storage, and analytics
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, save draft job information, support login sessions, keep users authenticated, and protect the platform.
We use Sentry for error and performance monitoring. Sentry may collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, and stack traces to help us identify and fix issues.
We do not use marketing or advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics tools for behavioural advertising. Some cookies and local storage are necessary for the website to work properly.
You can usually control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies or clearing local storage may affect how the website works or remove draft information stored on your device.
12. Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
Security measures may include access controls, authentication, private storage settings, encryption where appropriate, monitoring, backups, and limiting access to people or service providers who need the information for legitimate purposes.
Identity, insurance, profile-check, address, job, message, and payment-related information may be sensitive. We limit access to this information based on user role, account permissions, operational need, and applicable law.
No website, app, database, or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for telling us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
13. Overseas storage and service providers
Some of our service providers may store or process personal information outside New Zealand.
Where personal information is disclosed or processed overseas, we will take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in a way that is consistent with applicable New Zealand privacy requirements.
By using TidyMatch, you understand that your information may be processed by service providers in New Zealand or overseas where reasonably necessary to operate the platform.
14. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
This may include keeping information for account management, job and quote history, saved address history, saved cleaner records, cleaner profile check records, subscription billing records, tax or accounting records, legal compliance, dispute handling, safety, fraud prevention, platform improvement, and backup purposes.
When personal information is no longer reasonably needed, we will take reasonable steps to delete it, anonymise it, or securely archive it.
15. Accessing and correcting your information
You may request access to personal information we hold about you.
You may also ask us to correct personal information if you believe it is inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, or misleading.
We may need to verify your identity before responding to an access or correction request. In some cases, we may refuse a request where allowed by law, but we will explain the reason where appropriate.
16. Deleting your account
You may contact us to request deletion or closure of your account.
We may need to retain some information after account closure where reasonably required for legal, tax, accounting, safety, dispute, fraud prevention, backup, audit, or legitimate business purposes.
Deleting an account may not remove information already shared with another user as part of a job, quote, message, review, booking, profile check, subscription, or dispute process. Some public content may be removed, hidden, or anonymised where appropriate.
17. Privacy breaches
If we become aware of a privacy breach, we will assess the nature of the breach and take steps that are reasonable in the circumstances.
Where a privacy breach is notifiable under New Zealand privacy law, we will notify the Privacy Commissioner and affected individuals as required.
If you believe your account or personal information has been affected by a security or privacy issue, please contact us as soon as possible.
18. Children
TidyMatch is not intended for use by children under 18.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, post a job, submit a quote, subscribe as a cleaner, or use TidyMatch for paid cleaning services.
19. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If we make material changes, we may notify users by email, platform notice, website notice, or another reasonable method.
Your continued use of TidyMatch after the updated Privacy Policy is published means you accept the updated version.
